MANY WERE CALLED, A FEW ARRIVED AND A FEW GOT ELATION

The Historic Gathering
Many were called, a few arrived and a few got elation. This is how I can describe the noteworthy gathering—if not the last—on 31st of August 2013. This activity was undertaken not personally but in concerted efforts by the concerned individuals of this batch to reform MCU-BS Biology 2003 in unison.

It’s been 10 years, 4 months, 20 days and 60 minutes or simply 3,795 days, 1 hour, 0 minutes and 0 seconds to be exact since we last met on April 12, 2003, at 7pm, the Graduation Ball, to date.

Hot Mommas
Hot Papas
Although affected by gridlock, Dina and I still managed to arrive at the place at exactly 7 pm while anticipated and expected attendees were still stuck in traffic. While waiting for their arrival, I ordered light drinks and bangus sisig in the mean time.  Upon their entrance at about 8 pm, we started to order palatable and delectable menus of our choice such as bihon, bulalo, crispy pata, and the like for dinner as if we were not in a seafood restaurant. But before we finally got into a bottle-rattling conversation and mingling, Lloyd gave the initial blow in the event by singing his classic: “Salamat” by The Dawn. Of course, as expected, Lloyd also sang with me along with the accompaniment of Errol our favorite classic song from Francis Magalona: “Kaleidoscope World,” followed by Andrew E's “Banyo Queen” and Eraserhead's “Ang Huling El Bimbo.” By then, we felt we embarrassed ourselves with that ignominy, and yet we were still absolved for the sake of this day. Thereafter, Jon Tolentino “ the ghost attendee” and "ardent supporter" of the group—who kept locked-in all throughout—called up twice for his personal message and regards to the group who attended.
Performers Of The Night
Since everybody was still interested and glad to hear each other stories even if the time had already elapsed, the concluding part of the gathering was extended at the artificial shoreline adjacent to the Boracay room which we held before. Therein, we shared anew our personal lives—including the life that we’ve been through—our occupational lives, etc. Thereupon, so as to give a memorable remark, arouse the audience and keep the gathering alive, I shared usual antics by telling stories about my personal life, reminiscent college experience, endeavors in life, battle against oddities, survival of job hunting, funny sexual life, etc. that turned the venue into a one night comedy bar. All these stories were meant to make them happy. After this, we totally ended up with a grin in our face and this was the most touching and joyous part of the night for me.
MCU BS Biology 2003
Despite the lull, the absence of many and by this show of support and appreciation of a few, we once again reunited, relived and rekindled the relationship with each other towards more harmonious connection in the future.

May this short and personal blog serve as the minutes of this gathering and an inspiration for the  future endeavor of this batch.

Long Live BS BIOLOGY 2003.

Hasta La Vista!
